Chumbe Island is a small island in the west of Stone Town surrounded by a marine protected area. For this full-day tour you will set over via boat from the partner hotel in town to Chumbe Island. Meeting at 9:30 am sharp for registration at Jungle Paradise. This daytrip includes freshly cooked lunch on the island, as well as sodas, water and snacks. You will snorkel over one of East Africa’s most diverse coral reefs and enjoy a guided walk through the forest trails, where you can see coconut crabs. If it is low tide, you will also walk on an inter-tidal area. You will have access to climb to the top of the historic lighthouse, built in 1904 by the Sultan of Zanzibar and the British. Furthermore, you will get a tour of an eco-bungalow. The returning boat leaves Chumbe Island at 4:30pm, arriving at Jungle Paradise Hotel at approximately 5:00pm, depending on sea conditions. During your whole trip, the boat, a guide and the equipment for snorkelling are included. If required you will get rehersal in snorkeling.

Chumbe Island is only having limited space for daily visitors and therefore a booking has to be done 4 days in advance.
